Celebrity Animal Rescuers On A Mission

Linda Ellerbee

To find homes for abandoned pets left at shelters, Linda Ellerbee has
gathered a crew of celebrity friends to produce a TV special to find homes for the animals. They're creating the special for Nick News, Nickeloden show, to run Dec. 27th at 8 pm.

Lance Bass Bonnie HuntShe's enlisted fellow animal lovers Lance Bass, Sophia Bush, Tony Hawk, Bonnie Hunt, Kimora Lee Simmons, Kellan Lutz,  Maria Menounos and Tiffani Thiessen. For the show, Ellerbee traveled around the country to capture footage on how difficult life has become for some pets and their owners due to the economy. Along the way the celebrities do their best to draw attention to the issue, and adopt more than a few of the animals themselves.

Kellan Lutz Tiffani ThiessenTiffani Thiessen rescued two dogs and two cats. “To be able to provide that (a home) for an animal, it warms my heart," she said.

“The great part about getting a dog that needs you like a rescue dog is they wanna just thank you for the rest of their lives," said Bonnie Hunt, who has an adopted dog named Charlie.

Kellan Lutz from Twilight rescued his dog Kola and has said, “Life would be empty without her.”

Be sure to tune in on Dec. 27th.
