JASON RITTER: Love Lessons From Dad

JasonRitter_JessWexler Love ain't easy. Just ask Jason Ritter

The Plus sat down with the charming star of the new film "Peter and Vandy," where he stars as Peter, a guy who figures out that true love means accepting all of a person, warts and all.

It’s a lesson that Jason learned from his dad, the late John Ritter, even before he explored it on the screen.

"What fascinated him were people's flaws and shortcomings, so a lot of times, he admitted his up front," Jason recalled about his famous father.

Pointing out your flaws before your relationship even gets on a role may seem crazy, but Jason totally appreciates his dad's strategy.

"For everyone who runs away from that, the someone who stays has already accepted the part of you that's embarrassing," Jason explained.

"Real love is when you've exposed the darker sides of yourself and someone has accepted it. When you're looking at the complete picture, that's really beautiful."

"Peter and Vandy" is currently playing in select theaters nationwide.
