Why does Jesse Metcalfe so look incredible in his new Hallmark Channel film, “Farfield Road” , which premieres on the network next week? Because the boy hits the gym, hard!
“I work out nearly every day,” he tells CGL. “My minimum is five times a week.”
So what’s on that week-long workout agenda?
“I box and run. I do a considerable amount of cardio.” Jesse reveals.
Jesse also lifts weights to keep his muscle tone in check, then smooths everything out with a bit of yoga.
“I do it all,” he jokes.
And we’re so glad you do!
Catch Jesse in “Farfield Road” on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m., only on Hallmark.
Patricia Arquette and Maria Bello are serious about the plight in Haiti.
This past weekend, Maria, who did her part right here in the Big Apple last month, was on the west coast with her friend and fellow actress to co-host another “Don’t Forget” Haiti event at the Judith Leiber jewelry store in Beverly Hills. The stars were out in full force for the $95 pendant that benefits Viral Voices, an organization dedicated to bringing change to the region.
CGL has hot pic of the celebs who came out to support the cause including Essence Atkins, Katherine McPheeRose McGowan, and Rosario Dawson. Check it out.
Tennis champs Serena and Venus Williams kicked off the action at the USTA and Heineken’s US Open Player Party inside the Empire Hotel in New York City Friday night.
In color-coordinated outfits in white and black, the Williams sisters made a splash at the night’s festivities. “There were surrounded by friends, and they looked happy,” a spy at the festivities spills to CGL.
That’s a good thing. A bum foot from a recent fault may keep Serena from playing in this year’s tournament, but she kept up her spirits, telling her girlfriends their butts looked “damn fine” that evening. That’s what a tennis body gets yah!
Their advice may not have made much sense when we were kids, but now, our dads’ words of wisdom mean everything to us.
That’s why we caught up with Colin Hanks and Daman Wayans Jr., who grew up with famous fathers, to find out what advice their dad shared with them when they were children that means even more to them today.
“Nobody is a better friend than family” says Damon who shares the same name as his comedian dad. “At the end of the day, if you get into it with your family, it’s okay, because they are always family. It’s one of the best things he taught me.”
Colin’s advice from dad Tom Hanks is simple. “Life is long, so don’t be in a rush,” he declared to CGL, adding, “I more fit into the ‘don’t be in a rush,’ comment, because I’m not.”
Pretty solid way to live, Colin.

It’s a good thing Jonathan Silverman played a dad in his latest Hallmark movie “Jack’s Family Adventure.” CGL has learned that he’s ready to be a father in real life!
“We’re talking about it more than ever,” Jonathan told us exclusively as he escorted his actress wife Jennifer Finnigan to the ABC Summer Press Tour Party at the Beverly Hilton on Aug. 1.
Jennifer’s doting husband stayed at her side most of the evening, fetching her drinks and beaming with pride over Jennifer’s new series, “Better With You.”
As for that timetable on when to start a family, Jonathan reveals it’s well, right now. “We’ve been together for six years, married for three. Not a day goes by without a mention of a child,” he confessed, adding that they have expanded their family already with the addition of a puppy.
While some couples get bogged down by the prospect of adding kids to the mix, Jonathan and Jennifer follow one simple rule to keep their love life in check.
“Make sure you marry your best friend,” Jonathan shared. “That way you can laugh with each other every day.”
Awwww!

All of the proceeds from the $95 pendant will benefit the Haitian Chapter of Vital Voices, which empowers women leaders around the world.

Mark your calendars, CGL-ers! Tomorrow night, Hallmark Channel premieres its new film “Class.”
“Nash Bridges” and “Prison Break” alum Jodi Lyn O’Keefe stars as a single mom who’s trying to keep things afloat for herself and her asthmatic son. Her destiny collides with a reluctant law student (Justin Bruening) whose class assignment forever changes Kylie’s life, and his own.
CGL caught up with Jodi to find out her fave moments from the movie and why she may be taking her youngest co-star home for good! “Class” airs Saturday, Aug. 14 at 9 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.
CGL: Tell me about your character, Kylie.
Jodi: She’s definitely a fighter. She’s been struggling for a lot of years, and she’s a single mom. Her son has health problems. She’s stubborn as all hell and hot-tempered. But she just wants to take care of her son. He comes first for her.
CGL: Do you see any of yourself in the character?
Jodi: For sure, the whole “don’t judge a book by its cover” concept. When I was very young, started modeling in New York, and I was thought of as the “stupid model” for a while. And as a young actress, people thought, “Oh, we don’t really care what she thinks.” People judge you by a first glance, and it’s normally not the right impression.
CGL: What was it like working with Eric Roberts, who plays Justin’s dad? He’s a little intimidating in the film.
Jodi: He was so much fun. In a party scene, it took 400 years to set my hair in that style I’m wearing. He was teasing me about that a little bit. He’s a wonderful man.
CGL: Did working with Maxwell Perry Cotton, who plays your son, stir up any maternal instincts for you?
Jodi: I kept asking his parents if I could keep him. I fell in love with him and told him every day, “I want you to be my real son.”
CGL: What did you learn about motherhood from playing this role?
Jodi: You need patience.
CGL: How did you keep Maxwell entertained between takes?
Jodi: I would immediately do what I do with all little kids, which is give him a high five and then down low and pull my hand away. Until he could finally catch up with me, it would frustrate him. I won a lot, but it’s not really fair because I’m so much bigger.
CGL: Do you want to be a mom someday?
Jodi: Absolutely, whenever the time is right for me. Not right now, but I hope so.
CGL: There’s a great Cinderella moment in the movie. Was that your favorite romantic scene?
Jodi: That was one of my favorites until my shoes started squeaking badly. They were kind of plasticky. I would lift up one foot and the other would creak loudly. Justin and I couldn’t keep a straight face.
CGL was on the carpet Tuesday night for the New York City premiere of “Eat Pray Love,” opening nationwide tomorrow, and of course Julia Roberts was there.
The starlet made her way onto the red carpet in designer shorts, along with her onscreen leading man Javier Bardem.
We spoke to several stars attending the premiere, including Jenny Craig spokesperson Phylicia Rashad to find out what has been their most recent decadent meal, and what it’s like to work with Julia, up close and personal. Check it out!
