BETHENNY FRANKEL: Motherhood Shopping Secrets!

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Busy mom Bethenny Frankel loves to load up on all the things she needs for three-month-old baby Bryn and hubby Jason Hoppy without ever leaving home. And what’s the one beauty item she likes to stock up on most?

“Any kind of baby wipes,” The Real Housewives of New York City star declared yesterday at a tasty breakfast sponsored by Drugstore.com inside the newly renovated R Lounge at the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel in New York City. Of course, CGL was there.

“They’re great for under my eyes and the baby’s butt, and for wiping counters,” Bethenny shared with us before joking, “I’m going to wipe each of you before you leave.”

While that item definitely takes up much space in Bethenny’s virtual shopping cart, she always makes sure there’s a little extra room for a household regular, Metamucil!

“This and prune juice are my life,” Bethenny exclaimed holding up the familiar colorful canister.

“We call it orange in the house. It was one of the must bring items to the hospital when pregnant, though I didn’t know you weren’t allowed to eat or drink anything. I was happier about going to the bathroom than I was about having the baby. “

We’re sure both have been a pretty satisfying experience, Bethenny!

AMY ADAMS Post Baby Body!

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

CGL is glad to see there’s one mom in Hollywood who’s not afraid to show how she’s dropping her baby weight. There’s no starvation diets or declarations of the weight just “falling off” for Amy Adams. She’s doing it with good old-fashioned exercise.

The “Julie & Julia” star was spotted jogging while pushing three-month-old daughter Aviana Olea Le Gallo in the streets of Studio City, Calif, on Aug. 20.

The next night, Amy showed off her hard work in a curve-loving strapless dress at the Angel Awards 2010 annual gala, which recognizes corporations committed to aiding Project Angel Food. The nonprofit organization prepares and delivers meals to those living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in Los Angeles. Julia presented an award to Paramount Pictures.

Working out has also helped Amy avoid the postpartum depression some women suffer after giving birth. “She was upbeat and fun,” a source at the event spills to CGL. “And she looked amazing.”

GREG GRUNBERG Shops and Saves, And You Can Too!

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Getting the kids ready to go back to school? Be like Greg Grunberg and rack up the savings.

“We shop anywhere where Yowza is accepted. It’s a mobile coupon app I created for the iPhone, and it’s free,” he spills to CGL.

The “Heroes” alum came up with the idea while with his wife at Bed, Bath and Beyond. “You don’t go in there unless you have that coupon. We had it, but it was in the car door, and I was too lazy to go back to the car, literally,” he says.

“I said ‘Honey, this phone knows where I am, and I’ve got the power and the money – I’m the shopper – someone needs to create an app and bring the coupons to me.”

A year later, Yowza was born. Now accepted in more than 18,000 stores with over five million users, they handy dandy app will help Greg save money while stocking up on the number one item his three sons want most this school year.

“Backpacks, and nowadays it’s a fashionable thing,” Greg declares. “You need to have a logo on it. They’re into the X Games and football team logos.” A little savings definitely does come in handy for that!

No iPhone? No problem! Just visit Getyowza.com to download the program for the Blackberry, Android and Palm Pre. Happy shopping!

CGL Round-Up: Advice From Celebrity Dads!

Friday, August 20th, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

Their advice may not have made much sense when we were kids, but now, our dads’ words of wisdom mean everything to us.

That’s why we caught up with Colin Hanks and Daman Wayans Jr., who grew up with famous fathers, to find out what advice their dad shared with them when they were children that means even more to them today.

“Nobody is a better friend than family” says Damon who shares the same name as his comedian dad. “At the end of the day, if you get into it with your family, it’s okay, because they are always family. It’s one of the best things he taught me.”

Colin’s advice from dad Tom Hanks is simple. “Life is long, so don’t be in a rush,” he declared to CGL, adding, “I more fit into the ‘don’t be in a rush,’ comment, because I’m not.”

Pretty solid way to live, Colin.

CGL sends out a big congrats to newlywed Chelsea Clinton, who married her longtime boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, on Saturday, July 31 in the picturesque town of Rhinebeck, N.Y.

We got some advice on the secret to a happy marriage from “Seventh Heaven” star Stephen Collins (who also appeared in one of our fave movies of all time “Jumpin’ Jack Flash“!). Stephen and his wife, actress Faye Grant, have been married for 25 years.

“Make dates with each other even though you think you’re going to be together all the time,” he tells CGL. “Make time that’s planned.”

He also had some specific advice for Marc.

“When she’s angry, don’t defend. Just listen.”

With a quarter century of marriage under his belt, we’re pretty sure Stephen knows what’s he talking about, Marc!

HOT PIC! Kourtney and Scott Together and Hapy!

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

CGL spent the weekend in the Hamptons, N.Y., getting up close and personal with Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick.

The new parents put in an appearance Saturday at the Opening Day of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field in Bridgehampton, N.Y.

While there’s been lots of talk of the couple being on the outs for a myriad of reasons (or on the verge of a wedding, depending our which report you’re inclined to believe), the two were the picture of happiness Saturday. Scott was on his best behavior, posing on the carpet in a cream white blazer with Kourtney at his side in the blazing 94-degree sun.

The two then retreated to the VIP SWAGG tent for some much needed shade. While the lollipop shrimp, Pop Chips and Patron flowed freely, Kourtney, who has already regained her figure seven months after son Mason’s birth, passed on the treats, choosing instead to take out some time for her fans and posed with them for several pictures. (We can’t say the same for CGL!)

“They were really relaxed and talking with people inside the tent. They were very approachable,” an insider shared with us.

Kourtney and Scott then braved the hot sun again to take in a few moments of the action on the green before jumping back into their car — sans handlers –- as Scott personally drove his lady off the lot. We’re pretty sure he kept her cool too with the air conditioner at full blast. Looks like he’s learning some responsibility after all!

Other celebs in attendance included Starr Jones, who kept a low profile during the activities, and the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City.

KELLY RUTHERFORD: Putting Dating On Hold!

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Kelly Rutherford isn’t ready to jump back into the dating pool just yet.

“When you have small children, they’re your priority, and they should be your priority, at least for me,” the “Gossip Girl” star and single mom of two shared exclusively with CGL when we sat down for a chat at Hayneedle.com’s Home Design exhibit in Midtown Manhattan this week.

“They’re little and I need to be with them.”

Right now, her children, Hermés, four, and Helena, one, are giving her plenty to smile about.

“My son is really into the superheroes and now he’s discovered Scooby Doo.”

Which kind of explains why Hermes dressed up like Spiderman that morning. After all, he takes the job of protecting little sis very seriously.

“He’s wonderful older brother. Sometimes he doesn’t get it and asks, ‘Why did she just hit me in the face,’ and I say that’s because she’s trying to get your attention and she can’t say hey Hermes,” Kelly shared. “They laugh a lot and they giggle and cuddle. It’s really cute.”

With moments like these, it’s easy to understand why Kelly feels she already has all the love she needs in her life.

“I don’t feel any rush or pressure,” she confessed about getting back into the dating scene. “I have more love in my life than I’ve ever had before with my children and I feel that I have a very full life right now.

“Unless it’s just a really amazing person, you don’t have time to think about it,” she continued. “I’m just trying to get some sleep.”

We’re sure Hayneedle can help you out with that!

MEL GIBSON: Can He Make Things Right?

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Mel Gibson may face jail after his alleged assault on Oksana Grigorieva.

But there’s much more he needs to do than just serve time, according to Dr. Gilda Carle, renown psychotherapist and founder of DrGilda.com.

“He’s absolutely not in touch,” she tells CGL exclusively in response to Mel’s hate-filled recorded rant to his former girlfriend and mother of the eight-month-old child at the center of the split couple’s custody battle.

Still, Mel should put in the work to try to understand why he loses control.

“He needs to do anger management and have major therapy to get at the root of his problems,” Dr. Carle advises. “And this is going to take a long time.”

Dr. Gilda also suggests that Mel’s other seven children seek therapy.

“They have to do some searching to see how much of this venom has been punctuating their lives,” she explains.

“It could be affecting them, even on an unconscious level.”

Do you think Mel can make things right? Let us know below.

CGL Exclusive! Joel Madden: Nicest Celebrity Dad Ever!

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Here at CGL we meet celebrities all the time. Some are good and some we’d care to leave behind.

Joel Madden is definitely on our good list!

We ran into the Good Charlotte lead singer and Nicole Richie’s main squeeze, along with his twin brother Benji, at the Pampers with Dry Max “Dads on Diaper Duty” party in New York City last week.

Joel was nice enough to spend a few minutes chatting with us on camera, telling us about his favorite father and son memories. “He used to take me fishing,” Joel shared, and how daughter Harlow is definitely a Daddy’s Girl.

It wasn’t until we were through that we found out we had a technical glitch in our audio.

We freaked out, but not Joel, who was kind enough to answer one of our questions over again.

We also got to talk with the insanely handsome Gilles Marini, who gave us helpful hints on being a dad to a newborn, diaper duty and teaching his kids to be bilingual.

We say ooh la la to that!

Jonah Hill: His Weekly Family Get-Together!

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

While his relationship with his mother in the new movie Cyrus may be a little too close for comfort, Jonah Hill wants you to know his real life one is just fine, thank you very much!

“I’m really close to my family, fortunately I don’t feel in an unhealthy way,” he says, adding, “My girlfriend and my brother oddly have the same name, which is something that my family always jokes about. So now it finally makes sense when I yell out my brother’s name during sex.”

Jokes aside, Jonah and his family keep the ties strong with a weekly family tradition.

“We have Sunday night dinner every night if I’m in town and my brother’s in town,” he shares with CGL. While there’s nothing special on the menu, “it’s whatever my mother and sister-in-law cook,” Jonah says, the special ingredient is always “the idea of gathering every week.”
