JESSE METCALFE: His Hot Bod Secrets!

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

Why does Jesse Metcalfe so look incredible in his new Hallmark Channel film, “Farfield Road” , which premieres on the network next week? Because the boy hits the gym, hard!

“I work out nearly every day,” he tells CGL. “My minimum is five times a week.”

So what’s on that week-long workout agenda?

“I box and run. I do a considerable amount of cardio.” Jesse reveals.

Jesse also lifts weights to keep his muscle tone in check, then smooths everything out with a bit of yoga.

“I do it all,” he jokes.

And we’re so glad you do!

Catch Jesse in “Farfield Road” on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m., only on Hallmark.

THE EMMYS: Inside the Gifting Suites!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

It was all about Emmy madness this past weekend!

CGL wanted to get gussied up for TV’s biggest night, so we sent a few lucky gals to stop by the HBO Luxury Lounge at the The Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, Calif. to find out what the stars picked up!

While getting pampered at the L’Oréal Paris Beauty Suite, they also gathered hints on hot hair trends for the fall. Here are their finds!

“We started our day with an early morning Chambord cocktail, just like sexy Frenchman Gilles Marini, who said, ‘Oh lala! This is my breakfast!’

We then got our tresses coifed. According to L’Oréal experts, the look of the season is long bangs with polished messy beach hair. Warmer hair tints will also be in this fall.

We slipped into a pair of DearFoam slippers just like Alan Cummings, who declared he’d wear his on the red carpet for the big night. For the special man in your life, organized scruff is the look for the fall. Ooh, stubbly!

It was time for another Chambord cocktail, to which we heard The View’s Sherri Saum coo over their new flavored vodka, ‘Yum! I can put this on my Cheerios!’ Sorry Sherri, we’re sticking with milk.

After imbibing on awards night, all we wanted to do was shield our tired eyes. Thank goodness Solstice had provided us with a pair of shades from their new green line. FYI, cat shapes are back, and aviators are still going strong.

See you next year!”

CGL EXCLUSIVE JONATHAN SILVERMAN: Ready for Kids!

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

It’s a good thing Jonathan Silverman played a dad in his latest Hallmark movie “Jack’s Family Adventure.” CGL has learned that he’s ready to be a father in real life!

“We’re talking about it more than ever,” Jonathan told us exclusively as he escorted his actress wife Jennifer Finnigan to the ABC Summer Press Tour Party at the Beverly Hilton on Aug. 1.

Jennifer’s doting husband stayed at her side most of the evening, fetching her drinks and beaming with pride over Jennifer’s new series, “Better With You.”

As for that timetable on when to start a family, Jonathan reveals it’s well, right now. “We’ve been together for six years, married for three. Not a day goes by without a mention of a child,” he confessed, adding that they have expanded their family already with the addition of a puppy.

While some couples get bogged down by the prospect of adding kids to the mix, Jonathan and Jennifer follow one simple rule to keep their love life in check.

“Make sure you marry your best friend,” Jonathan shared. “That way you can laugh with each other every day.”

Awwww!

What’s your secret to a happy marriage? Share with us below!

Want to get a sneak peek at Jonathan in Daddy mode? Watch an encore presentation of “Jack’s Family Adventure,” Wedensday, Sept. 1 at 9 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.

KERI RUSSELL: Clean Freak!

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Keri Russell has a confession to make: She’s a clean-a-holic!

“I’m a cleaner,” Keri confessed to CGL while celebrating her new TV series, “Running Wilde,” at the Beverly Hilton last week.

Luckily, she has her New York home to keep her busy. “Living in Brooklyn and having a nice new house to keep clean is so nice,” said Keri who admits she isn’t afraid to break out a box of Q-tips to clean out small crevices.

Of course, when you build your home yourself, there’s incentive to keep it in top condition. “I was on my hands and knees staining that floor,” Keri revealed. “I hung lights; I was there every step of the way.”

She loves to show off her favorite piece in the house, just one of the many items built by her carpenter husband, Shane Deary. “The dining room table is a big long narrow oak kitchen table. It’s really cool.”

We’re sure son River, 3, thinks it’s perfect, too.

MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR – Back to School!

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

With only a few more weeks of summer, Mark-Paul Gosselaar is already getting his kids ready to return to the classroom.

We ran into the newly single dad last night at the Sony TV All-Star Party at Lounge 210 inside the Beverly Hilton hotel during the annual summer Television Critics Conference, where he schooled us on all the things you need to go back to school.

“We’ve been shopping for clothes,” he told CGL about his son Michael Charles, 6, and daughter Ava Lorenn, 4.

Mark has also been stocking up on backpacks and SpongeBob lunchboxes for the kids. “He’s got longevity,” Mark said of the beloved cartoon character.

Luckily, the kids will have lots to talk about when they’re back at school. “We’ve been to Hawaii, Michigan, Idaho and Newport Beach, Calif.,” Mark said. Time in the sand has definitely made his recent divorce from Lisa Ann Russell, his wife of 13 years, easier on the children.

“We just build the biggest hole we can dig where the kids can put their whole bodies in,” he shared.

CGL Round-up with TOM SELLECK and Jimmy Fallon: How To Impress A Woman!

Friday, July 30th, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

CGL is in Los Angeles this week, trying to soak up a few rays as we brush elbows with the rich and famous on Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive!

We caught up with Tom Selleck from the “Jesse Stone” series you can catch right here on Hallmark Channel — and a few other good men — to find out what every man should know to impress a woman. Guys, take notes!

Tom Selleck: “Don’t pander to them. You’re still a man. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be gracious and polite and honest, but don’t pander to them. I think what makes us all tick is the difference between us. Men trying to get in touch with their feminine side? I don’t have much patience for that.”

Jimmy Fallon: “Learn how to roller-skate backwards!”

Dr. Andrew Ordon: “Be a good listener. Check your own ego at the door. Don’t always talk about yourself. Learn to listen and talk about them as well.”

Tim Kang (“The Mentalist“): “Open a door. Any type of door. Whether it’s a car door or restaurant door or any kind of door, just open a door. My dad taught me my manners, and that’s something that’s stuck with me since I was a kid. It’s something that’s been lost a little bit. It’s not anything other than just, ‘I think you’re important, and I want to open a door for you.’ That’s pretty much it.”

CGL Good Cause QUEEN NOOR – End Nuclear Threat

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010
Queen Noor of Jordan is passionate about world peace.

At the New York City premiere screening of “Countdown to Zero,” she spoke of her personal experience with nuclear destruction.

“I am a child of the cold war and grew up during the cold war, and the images of Nagasaki and Hiroshima will forever be imprinted on my mind and my memory,” she shared with CGL.

“I’m also a mother, and I am deeply concerned about the world that our children will enjoy.”

That’s why the queen consulted on the new film that calls for the end of nuclear weapon production in the world.

“It’s an educational film that tells the history, and it also lays out where we are today and why we need to act,” she said. “Everyone can have a voice. Everyone in every nuclear state has a responsibility to act and support their leaders to move toward zero nuclear weapons.”

She’s encouraging all to sign the petition at globalzero.org, an organization dedicated to the phased, verified elimination of all nuclear weapons worldwide.

“With the communications technology available to us today, we have an unparalleled opportunity for people to come together from all walks of life, exert pressure and support our leaders,” Queen Noor explained.

“Sometimes it will take a great deal of courage for leaders in nuclear states to take the hard decisions which are actually the right decisions, but they need to be supported by their people who have traditionally believed that weapons were a source of strength and a source of status.”

Queen Noor also believes that social media is a great way to get the message across country and continent lines.

“We will be using it to bring people together to help people realize what they can actually do.”

Countdown to Zero” opens nationwide on Friday, July 30.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: CGL Good Cause of the Week!

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

(Follow us on TWITTER: CelebGoodLife!)

It’s National Hammock Day, and we’re celebrating with Kathie Lee Gifford!

CGL hit Midtown Loft, a gorgeous NYC space and rooftop with breathtaking views of the city, to hang with the “Today” show host as she worked a few comfy hammocks (we know, we tried them!) for Hayneedle.com, the uber cool shopping site featuring more than 200 specialty stores with unique home furnishings. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” star Eduardo Xol is their celebrity designer!

“Who doesn’t love a hammock, it’s like buying happiness,” said Kathie, who’s got them hanging in homes in Connecticut, Nantucket and the Florida Keys. “I’ve worn out that one several times,” she confessed.

But it’s not just about getting a good nap. Kathie’s also raising funds for a good cause.

“I’m tying it in with an organization that I’m very passionate about called ChildHelp, one of the largest and most effective groups battling child abuse in America,” she declared to us. “I think it’s our great national shame that we don’t care enough about our own children to do something about child abuse.”

Buy a hammock on the site this summer and 10 percent of the price will be donated to the organization, founded by Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson. (They played David and Ricky’s girlfriends on “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet“!)

Kathie’s own personal design mantra is pretty simple. “Not one piece of furniture of the house that isn’t comfortable,” she declared to us, adding her style is “Ralph Lauren, on a budget.”

Kathie’s favorite piece in her house right now?

“When Cody was in high school, I used to tell him, would you please put those sticking sneakers away, because every shoe he owned seemed to be right in the entranceway of our home. Now that he’s home from college for the summer, I counted five pair sitting there and went I don’t want him to move his shoes!”

All together now, awwww!

BILL MURRAY: Ready for Ghostbusters 3!

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Who you gonna call? How about Bill Murray. CGL has learned the “Get Low” star is considering starring in another installation of “Ghostbusters,” as long as there is one major change for his character.

“I’ll do it if you kill me off in the first reel,” Bill declares.

Don’t freak out! Bill admits he was just kidding about dying on screen when he first learned the studios were mulling the idea of resurrecting the “Ghostbusters” franchise. However, it could turn out to be one heck of a plot twist.

“That was my joke,” he says about getting bumped off. “And supposedly, someone was writing a script where I did get killed in the first episode and become a ghost. I thought that was kind of clever.”

There’s one good reason Bill would revisit the movie about three parapsychologists who start a company to capture ghosts that have taken over New York City. “I miss Ernie Hudson, Danny Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, and obviously I miss Rick Moranis, he was a really big part of it,” Bill says. “I should just do it, maybe it would be fun to do.”

And we’d be so there to watch!

What other ’80s movie needs a sequel? Let us know below!

“Get Low” opens nationwide July 30.
